Shrugging off their dawn departure, the Hanover Varsity and JV had a productive morning at the Keene Preseason Tournament, joining over 16 teams in a series of 30-minute matches spread over four fields with simultaneous action. When the dust had cleared, the Marauder Varsity had a clean slate with three wins and a scoreless draw against D2 and D3 opposition. Hanover scored 12 goals, and had four consecutive shutouts. The Junior Varsity beat D2 opponent Pembroke 2-1, had scoreless draws with D1 foes Concord and Keene, and lost a well-played match to the Monadnock Varsity.
The Varsity opened with a 0-0 draw with a capable Con-Val side, controlling the action for most of the match. In the next match with Brattleboro, the Marauders continued their airtight defense, but sharpened up on offense, getting two goals from Noah Kahan and one from Henry Allison for a 3-0 win. The floodgates opened against Stevens, with Hanover prevailing 6-0. Freshman Seth Stadheim opened his account with two goals. Noah Kahan tallied his third goal of the day adding an assist, and the Marauders got single scores from Ian Caldwell, Cian Kelly and Avery Kravitz. After an hour's break, the Marauders enjoyed the wide open spaces of Keene's main field, and beat Berlin 3-0. Kahan had his fourth goal of the day, Stadheim tallied his third, and Allison volleyed home his second. Cian Kelly and Asa Berolzheimer each collected their second assists on the day.
Yedne Atkins scored Hanover's lone goal in their loss to Monadnock, and then joined with Casey Starr to tally the goals that gave the JV a come-from-behind win over Pembroke.
