Undaunted by the late arrival of the Bishop Guertin teams due to bus difficulties, and Marauder Varsity and JV opened the season with wins. The JV beat BG 4-0 in an abbreviated game. Stay tuned for a more detailed account tomorrow by our JV correspondent Matt Starr. The Varsity has a bit more trouble scoring against a packed in defense, and finally got the game winner on San Strohbehn's first varsity goal with 6 seconds left to play in regulation. Ian Caldwell had the big time assist.
Our schedule for the weekend calls for no sessions for any team Saturday and Sunday. One slight change: The Varsity will have a voluntary shooting practice on Sunday from 2:00 - 3:15 on the turf.
We have been fortunate to have Lars Blackmore shooting photographs at several of our games. Here is the link to his individual and team photos of the Varsity and JV, and some action shots form the Lebanon scrimmages: http://gallery.ameridane.org/Photo-Essays/HHS-Soccer-2014
Here's an important reminder for everyone in the program. Students at Hanover, Lebanon and surrounding schools concerned about suicide among young adults are sponsoring the second annual Suicide Awareness Walk on Sunday, Sept, 11. A number of HHS students participated laast year, and we encourage your participation this year. Here is the information:
